Vivienne Medrano, who created both shows, has also signed a first-look deal with the streamer.
Prime Video is expanding the animated version of hell seen in Hazbin Hotel.
The Amazon-owned streamer has struck a deal with creator Vivienne Medrano to both bring her Hazbin spinoff Helluva Boss to Prime Video and extend its run. The show’s first two seasons, which are on YouTube, will begin streaming on Prime in the fall (while remaining in their original home), and the streamer has ordered two additional seasons that will have an exclusive first window on the streamer before joining YouTube.
Additionally, Medrano has signed a first-look deal with Prime Video to develop new projects.

“I am so grateful to Prime Video for their continued support of our work onHazbin Hoteland for allowing our team at Spindlehorse to expand the Hellaverse by embracingHelluva Boss,” Medrano said in a statement. “I’m so excited for what this means for the continued rise of Indie animation! It’s a dream come true to be able to tell these stories, and I truly can’t wait for you to see what we have planned!”
Hazbin Hotel, produced by A24 with animation by Fox’s Bento Box Entertainment, premiered on Prime Video in January 2024, four-plus years after Medrano’s independently produced pilot for the show was uploaded to YouTube. Prime Video gave the series a two-season order to start and renewed it for two more seasons in July 2024.
Helluva Boss centers on the hell-born imp Blitzo (with a silent o), who runs a small, chaotic assassination business. The show’s two seasons span 20 episodes, each of which has at least 12 million views on YouTube (which counts 30 seconds of video play as a view).
Medrano created the series and executive produces with Tom Murray. Brandon Rogers, Richard Horvitz, Vivian Williams, Erica Lindbeck and Bryce Pinkham head the voice cast.
